Public Cruises aboard the 'Rose' The Sternwheeler Rose is a charming vessel with all of the character of the sternwheelers that played such an essential role in Portland's shipping industry in the 1800's. The 'Rose' will carry you up river through the Holgate Channel where you may spot one of the nesting pairs of Bald Eagles, or Osprey that fish these waters. Watch carefully for playful River Otters along the banks of the Willamette. Peaceful scenery, wildlife, views of unique floating homes and relaxation are just a few of the amenities offered by your Captain and Crew! Upon returning to the downtown Portland Waterfront area, you will cruise along the seawall and under several of Portland's nine picturesque bridges.
